[Other] BREAKING NEWS - Heba Labadi Rushed To Hospital
inminds 27 October 2019
Inminds, 27th October 2019
Tortured Palestinian woman hunger striker Leba Habadi has been rushed to Bnai Zion Hospital in Haifa after 32 days on hunger strike. Her condition is critical with her frail body no longer being able to swallow water for the last day. Having depleted her body's glucose store, and processed her body fat into energy, her body has entered "starvation mode" whereby the body "mines" the muscles and vital organs for energy, this is life-threatening. Last week, after a visit, her lawyer reported that Heba is suffering severe heart problems, dizziness, and difficulty speaking, with significant weight loss (over 10kg).
As punishment for her hunger strike she has been caged in isolation in a tiny damp underground cell infested with cockroaches. The cell is devoid of any furniture, empty apart from a filthy sheet, 4 cameras spying on her at all times, she has been kept in the same cloths from over a month ago. This abuse had also impacted her health.
The ICRC, in dereliction of their duty of care to prisoners, under the Geneva Conventions, has abandoned Heba to her dungeon without even a single visit this whole week. Further more the ICRC has still not secured a visit for Heba's mother, who hasn't seen her daughter since this nightmare began with Heba's abduction and torture by Israeli occupation forces over two months ago, on 20th August.
Heba is a Jordanian citizen, the Jordanian government having sent a "protest note" to Israel over 10 days ago, has decided not to further upset the Israeli regime. Their consul in Jerusalem, who was granted a visit to Heba even before her own lawyer was allowed to see her, has now abandoned her. Whilst Heba, daughter of Jordan, tortured and caged in conditions not fit for a dog, and now is dying from hunger, the Israeli Ambassador is still welcomed in Jordan.. a nations shame!

Featured MP3 Podcast "[Deportation at the airport] We saw the injured [Turkish] men going through.. a lot had a leg cut out of their trousers or an arm cut out of their top. It had been cut out to treat their wounds.. they were covered in blood, blood that had been there for three days, and some of them had wounds that were still bleeding.. What upset me most was seeing the dozen men, one after another, hobbling across the terminal, with a bandaged foot. I couldn't ask them why so many of them had a bandaged foot, I couldn't ask them what had happened, because if they spoke or if any of us spoke to them the Israelis beat the injured person.. We later found out that they had these injuries on the tops of their feet from when the troops came down from the helicopter on the Mavi Marmara, and they came down firing - they had been shot from above. Some of the men that were killed were shot at close range - head and chest, but a dozen of the men who were shot, among 59 people who were shot, they were shot at the tops of their feet - the bullets were coming down.. They weren't given a wheelchair or a pair of crutches, and if any of the other passengers stood up and tried to offer [help].. that person was dragged away and smacked by these Israelis. The Israeli soldiers sat on the floor, laughed and sniggered and made every one of these Turkish men hobble and hop all the way across, some 200 metres, everyone of them, one by one, made to do that purely for the sick amusement of the Israeli soldiers."
