A 26-year-old woman from north London appeared
in court last week accused of taking part in a disturbance at the
Israeli Government Tourist Office in central London.
Emily Apple, of Stoke Newington, faces one charge of violent disorder
after a demonstration at the building on May 13 the same
day that 20 activists carrying pro-Palestinian banners attempted
to scale the perimeter fence at the Israeli embassy in Kensington.
Apple stands accused of causing or threatening unlawful violence
during the incident. Investigating officers are also looking for
two other people in connection with the protest.
The case was adjourned pending psychiatric reports and the defendant,
who was released on bail, was ordered to return to Horseferry Road
magistrates court on August 14.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: We continue to monitor groups
and individuals and will take appropriate action where necessary.
However, we are not prepared to discuss individual cases.
